Excel Automate is freshly sprung in Hobart, but the person behind it has been around a while.
Hi, I'm Chris. I've been building tools and automations in Excel for 25 years across a range of different organisations, picking up plenty of database and CRM knowledge along the way. A degree in software engineering was the starting point, and experience has taught me a lot since.
Where I'm coming from
A lot of my recent work has been with non-profit organisations, where money is better spent on doing good than on sophisticated systems, large IT teams, and never-ending managed services. The downside I've seen is that a lot of tasks get stuck being done the slow manual way, which has its own costs over time.
With a business focused on finding fast and efficient custom solutions – something that Modern Excel is perfect for – I'm aiming to help more organisations across Australia save time, costs, and headaches.
Being based in Hobart, I'm also keen to work with any businesses in Tasmania who might be dealing with similar issues.
What I'm about
I always enjoy solving problems, but the part of this work I like best isn't the code and the data. It's working with the people who do the same jobs day in, day out – labouring over spreadsheets, wrestling with systems, and knowing there has to be a better way.
Not everyone has time to get deep into Excel. If I can make that part of the job easier, the people doing the real work can get on with the things that matter.
